  • Why Physical Therapy?

Injury often produces pain, swelling, loss of motion and strength, and sometimes, loss of function. A licensed therapist will thoroughly evaluate your condition and identify the source of your discomfort or dysfunction. Following your evaluation, an individual treatment plan will be designed which will usually include extensive education about your particular situation/problem, manual therapy intervention, the use of exercises, modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold packs), and also biomechanical re-education to treat the problem area. Our hands-on approach will help you regain motion and feel more flexible, while our exercise programs will help increase your strength and endurance. Through work and functional training programs, we will help you get back to normal activity much faster.
  • Does Live Free PT accept your insurance?

A doctor's prescription is required to have insurance cover physical therapy services. Live Free Physical Therapy accepts most major insurers and most PPO's and HMO's. Most medical insurance companies, workers compensation plans, Medicare, and motor vehicle policies generally cover physical therapy treatment. Please refer to our list under insurances. If your insurance is not listed we may still be a provider. Please call our office at 978-449-9772 to ask about your specific plan. It is highly probable that we will be able to bill your insurance for physical therapy.
  • Do I have to go to the physical therapy clinic my doctor has referred me to, or do I have a choice?

Although your doctor will most certainly recommend a particular physical therapy clinic to you for your rehabilitation, you are free to choose any physical therapy practice you like. Simply tell your doctor that you want to do your rehabilitation at Live Free Physical Therapy.
  • What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

You will need your insurance card, a picture ID, a prescription from your doctor (for most insurance plans, call us if you have questions), and completed intake forms if you have chosen to fill them out prior to your appointment (please see our forms section). If you were involved in a car accident or work-related accident, please have your insurance company's name and contact information, a valid claim number, and your adjuster's name and contact information.
  • How long are initial evaluation appointments?

Evaluations require 30-60 minutes depending upon your diagnosis. You will also need to come in 15 minutes early in order to fill out the necessary paperwork, so that the therapist can spend the full time scheduled with you.
  • How long will follow-up appointments be?

Plan on being treated at Live Free Physical Therapy between about 45 and 60 minutes for follow-up appointments.
  • Is there parking available at Live Free PT?

There is ample free parking in our parking lot.
  • My doctor suggested certain specific types of therapies. Do you do them?

We work closely with referring physicians to ensure high quality of appropriate care. Please call us with specific questions.
  • Do I need a referral?

This depends upon your insurance benefit. Many health insurers today require an insurance authorization from your primary care physician (PCP). Please check with your insurance company or call our office and we will be happy to provide you with this information.
  • What should I wear?

You will want to wear loose, comfortable clothing that will allow you to expose the injured part of your body and move easily. If you have a leg or foot injury, it would also be helpful to bring whatever shoes you wear for exercising or walking.
  • Do you accept credit cards for payments?

Yes, we accept Mastercard, VISA and Discover.
  • What is your cancellation policy?

Consistent attendance and taking an active role in your physical therapy treatment is a must in order to achieve the results you are looking for. Thus, it is very important that you attend each of your scheduled appointments. If you know you will be unable to make your appointment, please call immediately to reschedule, and so that we can fill that time slot with another patient that may be in need of physical therapy services. We require at least 24 hour notice of a cancellation. In the event of a late cancellation or "no-show", you will be charged a $30 cancellation fee. Please arrive at all of your appointments on time, as late arrival may result in a shortened or canceled treatment session.
